Phil is a Principal of SurgCenter and serves as Chief Strategy Officer. Phil has spent the last two decades in the Public and Private Capital Markets, where he directly managed public and private capital transactions of equity and debt, lead M&A and special advisory processes including take-privates and played a role in activist investor resolutions. Most recently Phil was Partner, Co-Portfolio Manager and the Chief Operating Officer of Ramsey Asset Management, an investment management firm. Prior to that he served as Senior Managing Director and Group Head of Technology, Media and Telecom and Healthcare Investment Banking within Friedman, Billings, Ramsey and FBR Capital Markets, an investment banking firm, where he also served on the Commitment Committee and as Head of Financial Sponsors, interfacing with a myriad of private equity and venture investors. Phil has served in various C-level roles of both public and private companies, holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and a B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland.
