Dr. Vivek Sood is a double board certified orthopaedic surgeon, specializing in total joint replacement and foot and ankle. Dr. Sood completed his undergraduate studies at Binghamton University and graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. degree in Biochemistry. He received his medical degree at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Brooklyn in 2000. He then completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at SUNY Brooklyn, where he served as chief resident. After residency, he received advanced training in adult joint reconstruction at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. At Rush, he trained extensively in hip and knee revision surgery and also gained experience in performing minimally invasive hip and knee surgeries. Dr. Sood then went to Mount Sinai Medical Center and received subspecialty training in Foot and Ankle Surgery. After partnering with SurgCenter in 2008 for a successful project in Glen Burnie, MD, Dr. Sood joined SurgCenter to help develop and manage surgery centers throughout the United States.
